Less Is More Challenge Week 23

Please can someone tell me where the time is going, i know i sleep a lot but this is ridiculous as chunks of time seem to have disappeared, i really don’t remember June 2011 at all…Over at the wonderful Less Is More Challenge site we have been asked to do the following this week.

“These ONE LAYER CARD challenges seem to come around so quickly and here we are once more with another. Many LIMettes are now much more comfortable with this type of CAS card and each month we have some stunning contributions. For our challenge today we would like to see SOMETHING WITH LEGS.  This should give you plenty of scope, but please don't forget that we still need to see areas of white space and minimal embellishments on your entries”.

I am sure this has opened up a lot of people’s imaginations as i know mine went into overdrive.  Talking of overdrive i made all these while watching the Formula 1 race from Silverstone.  I was particularly upset when one of my favourite drivers Jenson Button had to retire, but perked up again when my other favourite Fernando Alonso WON, YEAH!!!

Anyway less of the rambling and down to the cards. Made five this week and am putting them all in one post to save time for commenting. As usual any feedback is welcome, good or bad as i like to learn this way.

Masked off the card top and bottom to make the border using Chipped Sapphire DI, the border is from a set of four Avec punches. The gorgeous little Chihuahua stamp is from Inkadinkado. Used two heart shaped crystals and a little Gold Glamour Dust to decorate his collar. The sentiment is from Flutterby Wishes.

The bird and branch stamp is from Paper Artsy stamped using Brilliance and Encore Ink Pads. Watered them down to add colour to the leaves and birds.  Can see the shimmer better on the macro image.

Stamps from Darkroom Door Robots Vol 2.  Used Encore metallic ink pad and Stazon Platinum to stamp the robot.   First time using the Stazon Metallic stamp pad and not too sure i inked the pad correctly, you can see the outline better in the macro image.

The stamps used here are from Crafty Individuals. Used Versafine Brown and Black ink pads to stamp the image and sentiment.  By this time i was getting slightly tired and upset JB had had to retire so my stamping has gone a little wonky lol…

The wonkiness continued as Alonso was getting closer to winning to the race … Used Cosmic Shimmer mica spray Midnight Blue – watered down and in a small spritz bottle – to get the background.  Tried to mask off the area as well as i could but had a little seepage. The stamps used here are from The Artistic Stamper  which i won in a Twitter competition at the end of last month.Used Brilliance Black to stamp the images. Hoping my contribution to this weeks challenge is satisfactory and up to standard.

I wish to apologise to all the people who have commented on my Blog over the last few weeks.  I haven’t been too well and can only sit at the computer for small amounts of time, this is an ongoing thing so will try to comment on as many as i possibly can and hope you understand.

Thanks for dropping by am off to check out some of your wonderful entries now…

Would also like to welcome my new followers and to say thank you for following.  It always amazes me when people decide to follow my quite boring blog, but it does cheer me up to think that somewhere out there in cyberland someone wants to see my creations :-)

  3. Love the last two cards!
I know what you mean about getting tired and things going wonky!!! I find it really infuriating and it's usually when I've tried to do things without using a stamp postitioner! Serves me right!
It sounds like you have a very productive time!
    Thanks so much

  4. Hi Sweetie, Wonderful creations, not a fan of the Grand Prix, used to HAVE to watch, it can put you off it a bit LOL
You have been busy! Each card is lovely but my favourite is the birds on the blue background, a little seepage never hurt anyone LOL The angle you have with the birds is perfect and I love the whole concept even if the sentiment is a little horizontally challenged, aren't we all at times? LOL Hugs Gay xxx
p.s I never got on with the ink pads that need to be inked by me, I had a white Stazon, it was awful, I got in a right old mess with it, LOL xx

  8. I'm so sorry to hear you've not been well and hope you get periods of betterness. I'm very impressed by your array of cards - F1 is obviously good for the mojo! My favourites are the last two - the friendship image is fab but the bird card is spectacular! It is a shame about the wonky sentiment but hey! that's life!

  13. Hi MOH, you have been busy, I'm impressed you can craft and watch TV at the same time:)
Fab collection of cards, the chihuahua is so sweet - love the sponged borders too.
My faves have to be the birds as the background strip is wonderful, oops about the sentiment - it can happen to anyone...even with a stamp positioner!!
They're cards to be proud of and thanks for taking the time to comment on my blog too :)

  14. Great collection, the heart eyes in the Chihuahua are just great, fabulous blue background for the birds.
I follow the F1 as well and was so disapointed when JB ended up with 3 wheels on his wagon. That's racing for you, may be next year!

    Happy Inking
