Less Is More Challenge Number 28

Once more we are back to the second week of the month and so our challenge is for a

ONE LAYER CARD

The special feature we would like to see this week is for you to

USE INK
** This does include ink pads **

...hopefully in a way you haven't tried before.... or using a favourite technique.

Above is the criteria to enter this weeks challenge over at the quite wonderful Less Is More Challenge site.  I enjoy using mica sprays to make backgrounds so chose to use this technique but keep it very subtle, used Dawn Bibby’s Gold  mica spray as this is a rich deep gold colour which i thought would enhance the rest of the card.

LIM wk 28 hearts 01

Used Crafters Companion original Ultimate Board to make the scallops; Paper Artsy stamp for the heart, Crafty Individuals for the sentiment; Versafine Ink Onyx.Love using Distress Inks so used Barn Door watered down to colour in the red areas of the hearts.

Hope this qualifies for this weeks challenge.  Not sure if i will make another will see what time and energy i have…

Thanks for dropping by:-)

  4. This is lovely MoH! I love the pattern on the hearts and the way you've coloured them and I like the way you placed them between the embossed scallops. That sentiment is so true (except when you're hanging upside down from the bannisters of course!) Vx

  8. Now, see...when you spritzed the gold on the card, it looks just perfect...and with the red hearts...just wow! The scallops go nicely with the hearts. I love how it all blends. I just can't seem to get the hang of spritzing! Guess I need to practice more!! LOL!

  19. Love the mica spray! I don't have any of those-may have to acquire a few because I've seen this technique a few times now. Although I'm not sure I'm brave enough to use it! That embossing really adds some nice dimension too :)
I've just been looking through your other posts-you've really got the one layer card down huh?! I might have to have a go at that and pop over to Less Is More-I always love a new challenge, never enough hours to get them all done though huh?!

Oh my life-I am also a massive F1 fan! I thought I may be the only one left!! I don't get to watch them much anymore, but I do still try to follow it! I'm glad I'm not alone :)

Thank you for visiting my little blog, I hope you'll drop in again soon :) I'll be back here getting inspiration for one layer cards certainly :)
