This weeks theme over at the amazing Less Is More site is to use White on White. Just reading this made me break out in a sweat. I’ve never made a white on white or ‘wow’ card before. It has taken me a while to come up with any ideas and i have to admit to being slightly stressed about these entries. I watched the Formula 1 from Turkey and then Dr. Who before i started to attempt this weeks challenge. Have to say i think this is my least favourite challenge so far. Here are the three terrible and badly photographed cards. Tried to take the pictures using shadow and low light as hoped this would show off certain aspects of the hard work that has been put into them.
All three of the cards are A6 size. Have used funky foam, lace, ribbon, faux pearls, hand embossing, punches and Cuttlebug folder and finally a white border from Dunhelm Mill. Oh yes i forgot a pricking tool and foam mat. The images are not as good as they could have been but i hope you are able to see the detail where possible.
As you can see there is nothing interesting about these cards, i am hopeful for your feedback as i really do need to improve in this area. Thanks to both Chrissie and Mandi for really challenging me … AGAIN, for their fantastic feedback and for creating a space where we can all learn and make new cyber friends.
Won’t be doing much commenting this week as i am preparing for a weekend workshop next week and have got to make some pressies to take with me. Been experimenting with Shrink Plastic and Stewart Gill paints as i want to get a suede effect on the main piece i am making. Also need to make a couple of pieces of jewellery and some ATC’s to share so a busy few days ahead. If i do enter next weeks challenge it will be very late and again won’t be able to comment much. Hope i will be forgiven…
Thank you and welcome to my lovely new followers. It is always a surprise when i see a new face but i am happy you chose to drop by and check out what i’ve been making.
Hope you all have a fantastic week and manage to stay healthy and smiley. Thanks for dropping by:-)

I think they are all lovely! Is the boot embossed, or something you created first? The detail on it is so pretty! All the detailed showed up very nicely in your photos. I think that the dress is very sweet, it would make a great grad or prom kind of card ( as well as the obvious wedding! ) thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting! Have a great time with your workshop!
ReplyDeleteHi there MOH.
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous... my what a lot of effort you put into these beauties. I have to say that the boot is my favourite...what a super idea!
Have a good week!
Thanks so much for joining us again!

Superb cards MoH
ReplyDeletei love the daisy one. Sorry for your confusion over the sentiment side. I used die cut letters and Chrissie stamped hers, we thought that would show what was acceptable. We particularly stressed the outline bit as the main requirement was that there was no colouring.
you nailed it x 3!
Thank you!

Very pretty cards - my favourite is the last one - those flowers are stunning, in fact the flowers and the punched border are so beautiful the card doesn't really need anything else! Hugs, Sylvia x
ReplyDeleteThree fab cards - loving the third one. Enjoy your workshop.

I think you've done a brilliant job. I love the boot one - rather funky!! But they are all super.
ReplyDeleteDr Who was brilliant!!! Sounds like you've got a busy week ahead - have fun!
I love them all but the boot is my favourite! And you're not alone-I'm still panicking about this challenge-just can't get my head round WOW!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards - love the detail in the boot :-)
ReplyDeleteI love white on white and could not get started fast enough but knowing how it is with a style you do not like completely understand your reservations. Love your first card the boot it is witty clever, that said you are very hard on yourself with all of them, anyone would be pleased to receive one of these. XOXO Zoe
ReplyDeleteAll three are fab cards, The flowers on the last are so different and the black edge to them is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteI found my light tent was useless this week as it diffused the light too much to show detail :)

WOW- you have made some stunners there. Congrats.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sandra
Wow, wow , wow all of your entries are amazing . I like you found this one really tough and as for the other entries I nearly passed out when I saw them. Yours fits into that category. Love the photo on the last one you captured the light and shadows perfectly. Have fun with your workshops .

ReplyDeleteThey are all gorgeous, the dress is my favourite. Yvonne x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards
ReplyDeletewell... i think you created three lovely cards! i really like the one with the dress. that is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh MOH, what is it with us crafters that we doubt our ability and suffer such lack of confidence. You should be very proud of yourself for creating 3 fabulous cards. They are all gorgeous and the boot one is ingenious. Repeat after me... I am a brilliant crafter.. keep repeating until it sinks in lol.

Gorgeous cards :-) all of them are fabulous ,, you are way too hard on yourself :-)

Lols x x x
I really like all 3 of your cards- but I really like the flower card the most. Love the dimension of them and how you only embossed the edge of the card. Nicely done :)
ReplyDeleteThree gorgeous cards and all so different, can't really pick a favourite. You seem to have risen to this challenge really well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the award and shout out. It's appreciated. x
Well if these represent your first white on white attempts, then keep going because you've really nailed this one, hunny!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards yet again! My favourite is the flower one, though it was a close call between that and the dress :-)
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work and have more faith in yourself, you are much better than you think you are! :-) xx
Love them all. Great photography too because I could see all the details and my eyes aren't that good! Hazel x

£ and I've not done one, they are really beautiful cards, love the boot, very unusual
ReplyDeleteThese are fab MoH! I don't know what you are so worried about! I love the boot one most. Good luck with your busy week!
ReplyDeleteLizy x
Your cards are beautiful, and I can tell you've spend a good deal of time in the creation! When I'm photographing white, I generally put another color behind it..something dark and then the white really does show up better. Also if you have Photoshop Elements, you can adjust the levels easily.
ReplyDeleteI really love the one with the dress...so elegant!
Love all these creations - you are too hard on your self!! Love the dress form and pearls, so elegant and pretty!
ReplyDeleteDon't be so hard on yourself they are all unique creations! Boot is fab (I've never used parchment), dress is pretty & feminine and love the flowers in the third one. xx
ReplyDeleteThree fab cards, can't choose a fav , love them all! not easy to photograph white on white is it lol, I really struggled this week :O) Viv xx
ReplyDeleteI like the boot the best - great card.
ReplyDeleteLinbyx
Wonderful, great cards, love the boot, it looks soft and interesting, I like how you've embossed it:0) Love the other 2 cards as well, pretty dress form and the flowers are really pretty on the last, well done:0) xxx
ReplyDeleteWow love them all they are so different. How did you create the boot?
ReplyDeleteVal x
Hello there, I'm going to sound stern here! But you really shouldn't put your cards down like that - they are smashing! That you took part in the challenge, even when you weren't keen, is an achievement as well, I didn't start taking part for ages as I was too scared! My personal favourite is the one with the flowers - I really like the touch of black on the edges. I am also stamping foot here - you made more cards than me this week! Sarah
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely, I particularly like the flower one.
ReplyDeleteAll three of these are just beautiful. They more than fit the challenge. You have worked hard and I for one, notice you improving with each challenge...can't say the same for myself. I'm stuck in a rut and annoyed because I made a decent white wedding card...didn't take a pic, and sold the darn thing to a friend. I'm gonna see if I can come up with something before the weekend. Have fun at your event...hope it's a success for you.
ReplyDeleteThe cards are very beautiful and amazing ..
