Playing with Stampotique Stamps

It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago and i was very fortunate to get seven Stampotique stamps from different friends who knew i had fallen in love with Daniel Torrente and Jill Penney’s drawings. There is a list of seventeen images i would love to own, lists have been given out and will wait and see what happens… I have as many things crossed as i can, not permanently of course lol.

Here are the images of the stamps i now get to play with. Top from the left is Karin, Heart Throb, Weird Peggy and Moon Girl.

Here we have, from the left Moth Fab, Twinkie and O Joy who is my favourite, he reminds me of the Grinch and will be making a few xmas cards with him very soon.  All of these drawings are very Tim Burtonesque and yet so very individual.  Daniel Torrente is such a talented artist and i am so glad he decided to share his talent and give us such fun images.  Entered an image of Twinkie into the Play Date Cafe Challenge this week.  Very early this morning i made this card from the Moth Fab stamp.

Mentioned above that it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago and my two friends B & J were very kind and gave me four eggs from their home reared Hens.  Always have a joke about never being older than nine and shared this with J, when i opened the Omlet box of four lovely eggs she had painted them with letters spelling out one of the numbers which when added to the four eggs made my number for this year.

Does this sound complicated??? Not really if you want to play along just add your age numbers together, if you are 35 then you are 8, 3+5 = 8.  This way you are never older than nine and you get to have your terrible two’s all over again if you like, or not lol…

When stamping out any image i always stamp onto a backing sheet, to catch any off the page images or if need to take off a little ink before stamping directly onto a card, this goes for any colouring or mica spraying i do, it all ends up on this same backing paper.  After a little while these  papers start to develop into really useful background papers so i store them and use for occasions like this.  I stamped Moth Fab’s image onto one of these background papers  as i wanted a warm tone to the card.  Cut her out and then coloured in her hair using DI Aged Mahogany and Vintage Photo.  Her face was done using DI Tattered Rose.  Chose to add googly eyes just because thought it would bring Moth Fab’s face alive.

Used Aged Mahogany, Pine Needles, Chipped Sapphire, Broken china and Spiced Marmalade DI’s for the background colours. Creative Expressions, American Crafts and Funstamps images and Claudine Helmuth’s Multi-Medium Matt glue to attach Moth Fab to the card.  Decided to go over the whole card with a coat of the Matte Multi-Medium.

Was really made up to have received such a thoughtful and imaginative present so had to make them a Thank You card. The eggs were amazing and so very tasty.  Thanks again to B & J:-) xxx

Thanks for dropping by:-)
