Challenge 10 METALLICS

Over at the Pan Pastel Blog their challenge is to use Metallics.
The three ATC’s have been made for a swap with a Yahoo Group, the theme is to use die cuts and stencils and they have to be linked.
Despite the die cuts looking like houses, they are actually individual changing rooms on the sea front in Brighton. The lady has found it difficult to find a changing room her size, little does she know she has fallen asleep on the beach and is visiting the land of The Borrowers. She is very confused and realises she is dreaming and having a very clear, memorable moment, wakes up and thinks her dream rather odd but has enjoyed her time in the land of The Borrowers.

I have had the lady stencil a very long time and cannot remember where she is from, sorry.

Stencilled the lady over the top of the embossed card. Used Versamark ink and Copper Metallic Pan Pastel to colour her in, she wasn’t very visible so went over the Copper PP with black Archival Ink which produced the fabulous dark background and popped the stencil off the ATC.
Embossed a piece of pearl card, cut up and adhered to the ATC’s. Added script stamping over the three ATC’s; used a honeycomb stencil to create another layer then adhered the houses die cut along the bottom. Drew through the apertures and around the shapes to add a layer of depth.

To finish the ATC’s off i added a Versamark border to all three cards and then went over with Copper and Gold Metallic PP’s, wanted the edge to look like it had been embossed with embossing powder, think it works well.

Added the wording to the ATC’s and then stamped the details on the rear.

Hope you enjoyed your visit, thanks for dropping by. Looking forward to your comments.

  13. Tee hee - I'm not surprised she's confused... Even though there's not such a size difference, I always feel slightly like that trying to get changed in a tiny cubicle at the swimming pool... this would drive me nuts!! My favourite is the blue one on the right, but they're all terrific.

  17. These are beautiful, whimsical and so original! I love how you experimented with the borders. It really does look very effective and your colour choice is perfect. PS I loved 'The Borrowers' when I was young; it really captured my imagination! Julie Ann xxx
