I do enjoy visiting and joining in the challenges over at the Stampotique Designers blog. The characters always bring a smile to my face and i visit when i want cheering up.
This weeks Challenge is from Magda to use pen or Paint, here is what she says:
I always have a pen or pencil with me. Always with notebook full of drawings and doodles. I'm sure not only me! I would love to see a pen in your project. It can be a drawing, doodles or simply some journaling. It might be even a single word. I'm looking forward to see your entries for this challenge!
My entry this week is a chunky ATC which i have made for my nephew who will be 18 years old very soon.
Sprayed the wood directly with Dylusions sprays, added water to get drippage and then took colour away using a baby wipe and tissue.
Used Bazill Basics star shapes, coloured them with Portfolio Pastels then doodled over the top using Posca Pens. the large star has dots then lines to outline the shape, the middle size has starlight, star bright written around the edge and the small star has HB2U (happy birthday to you)in the middle and outlined to highlight the text.
His name has been created by cutting shapes from cereal box then layering to create a tile effect. The alphabet has been stamped onto tissue which has mopped up Cosmic Shimmer Gold spray.
The 18 tag is an homage to a laurel wreath that an Emperor would wear when he was crowned in ancient Rome. The central circle has been coloured with Treasure Gold Onyxite and Renaissance. the leaves are from a stamping set from Get Stamping and the vine is from Memory Box. The numbers are from an old box of chipboard letters and numbers from stash.
Used another Bazill Basics shape as the base for the HB2U tiles, larger this time so you can actually see them. Used mop up card from the Dylusions spraying to stamp the Alphabet using Purple Versacraft ink and then adhered to the shape. Used Silver Treasure Gold on the edges of the shape to add a little birthday bling.
Not the best side of the ATC but had these keys for ages and wanted to use them, seemed appropriate for an 18th Birthday. Coloured them with Treasure Gold Limited Edition 1 and Onyxite. This is my least favourite side of the ATC and might alter it before i give it to him.
I have a LOT of these flat marbles and they make excellent feet for a chunky ATC.
I do love these door knobs, they are so cheap and from a local store called Quality Save, cost £2.50 for four. they are glass and produce rainbows when in the sun.
I hope you like this 18th birthday Chunky ATC and i have my fingers crossed my nephew will too.
Thanks for dropping by.

ReplyDeleteThis is just a marvelous project and a fantastic chunky ATC...although the first I have head of it! I may have to try my hand at this. At 18, your nephew might have asked, "Where is the car?" when he saw those keys! Thanks so much for participating in the Stampotique Deigners' Challenge this week!

Oh, cool! Love the idea of spraying direct onto the wood... will definitely give that a try. Brilliant door knob and glassy feet to catch the light... what a great 18th birthday celebration.
