Less Is more Challenge Number 12

Over on the Less Is More site this  weeks challenge is to make our cards OFF CENTRE.  May i also congratulate Lady LIM and Mandi Diva LIM on their new titles and on this weeks challenge.   A tricky thing to create and get it looking just ‘right.’

May i apologise for not commenting as much last week, this was due to a couple of things. My cold came back and i was sneezing and sleeping a lot, plus i had laser treatment on my face and it swelled up so much it was difficult to see for around 48 hours. I gave up on trying to catch up with commenting as by the time i could see there were over 200 submissions…

Anyway onto my cards, i have made three so far but am not happy with two of them. Am going to submit them all in one post to save on the commenting.  Here goes and as usual please feel free to share your thoughts, good or otherwise as i enjoy constructive feedback it helps me learn and get better.

Here are the two i am not happy with.  The first one can be easily rectified it just needs me to stamp another vase and place over the top of this one.  Tried to colour the edge to give some depth and had a bit of a shake (due to medication) and sort of ruined the left edge, i do like the flowers though…

Used Elusive Images stamps for the vase and the sentiment and Prima for the flower.  Vase coloured using DI Bundled Sage and Forest Moss on the edge. Flowers stamped using Adirondack ink Stained Glass and directly onto the card base, the sentiment was stamped directly onto the card using Adirondack Slate ink pad.

Love this stamp which is from Dimension Fourth, had to buy it just because of the sentiment.

Thought this was a good idea but turned out boring and bland. coloured in the Fairy using glitter pens and Stickles Cinnamon glue. The sentiment was coloured using a light covering of DI Frayed Burlap ink.Decided to use a tiny star stamp just to add a tad of  detail but it was probably a bad move as i think it looks much better without the stars… What do you think?

The last entry for this weeks challenge is my favourite as i love dress form stamps.  This one if from Stampington & Company from 2009, a wood mounted stamp called Flora.

Used Brilliance Starlight Black ink to stamp the sentiment and i just love the sparkle you get from this ink pad. Took this macro as the sentiment didn’t photograph very well on the card image.

I enjoy taking macro shots so here are a couple more.

Stamped the dress form in DI Chipped Sapphire used up gold mica spray that i had been using on another project just to add a couple of highlights to the form. The faux pearls are from Crystal Stickers by Mark Richards.

That’s all from me this week, i will try to get around to comment but not until after Monday as i want to share some time with my OH over the Easter Break seeing as i can ‘see’ him a lot better than last week lol.  Enjoy the Easter Break, all your chocolate and the weather whatever it may be.

Thanks for dropping by:-)

Less Is More Challenge Number 11

This weeks challenge over at the fantastic Less Is More site is to use ‘ACETATE’.  You should really go and look at their weekly challenges. think doing a clean and simple card is easy think again lol. Please join in the fun and see how you get on…

This  weeks card was quite difficult to put together as there are so many ways to use acetate.  Decided to cut an aperture out using my dies which are similar to Nesties.  Really like this shape as it can be used in many ways.

Acetate front 01

Treated myself to a couple of the new Tatty Button stamps from Creative Expressions, thought this one suited the sentiment.  The sentiment is from a set of stamps which i purchased many years ago and not too sure where they are from, it’s possible they are from Around-To-It stamps. Stamped Tatty in Momento black ink and coloured her using Promarkers.  This week thought it would be fun to use an embossed front to add a little interest to the white space.  Didn’t think the card needed any more embellishments but tell me what do you think?

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for all the constructive feedback and comments on last weeks cards, it was fantastic to read each and every one.  Hope you all have a great week and stay well and healthy.  I’m still not over my latest cold but am hopeful that is it coming to an end very soon.

Thanks for dropping by:-)

Less is More Challenge Week 10

This weeks over at the wonderful Less is more challenge site we have been asked to make a OLC and to make the sentiment the focus of our creation. Seeing as i’m still not well and feeling particularly yuk  decided to make mine as simple as possible. Have made three cards and am putting them all in one post so that commenting is easier.

First card is made using a couple of my very favourite stamps. Had them so long can’t remember where i got them from, sorry… Included a couple of macro shots as usual so you hopefully can see the detail much easier. Used A5 white card, black Versafine ink and red glitter pen. This card could have been entered for last weeks challenge, a touch of red.

Second card is again A5 and used Versafine black ink to stamp. These images are from Elusive Images Thank You stamps, Paper Artsy swirl and the black tape is Clearly IOD from Prima.

Third card is  all Paper Artsy stamps, love this sentiment  and hand. Both were stamped using black Versafine ink and again A5 in size.

Less Is More Challenge Number 9

Over at the Less Is More site this weeks challenge is A Hint of RED. I definitely don’t use much red in any part of my life so this is a tad of an uncomfortable challenge for me…

I really have tried but i can already see that my card is too busy and you can’t see the top of the card which is shaped.

LIM wk 9 01

Tried to leave the bottom part  clear but not sure if this is enough white space…

LIM wk 9 02

My friends wife is expecting their third child very soon and they know it’s going to be a boy so have used this as my inspiration.  As you can see there are a few mistakes. Used Promarkers to colour the face and didn’t use a Momento ink pad to stamp the image so the markers have smudged the eyes and tops of fingers.  Used the Swiss Dots embossing folder  on the border strip and then gently ran over the top with a black ink pad but it smudged, again…

Going to enter the card and hope that it satisfies the criteria. Maybe i’ll have another go tomorrow and see how i get on then.

Thanks for all of your constructive comments, really appreciate them so keep ‘em coming! Also thanks to the very kind people who are now followers, welcome!

Thanks for dropping by:-)
