Twitter ATC Swap

Joining in with a Twitter swap with the lovely Sarah Dunkley and some of her friends. The theme is Nature and we have been asked to make three ATC’s.

P1050264

Started off by making all the backgrounds from Pan Pastel colours Purple,Yellow and Orange. Wanted to see what would happen if i applied the Pastels to the card stock on a piece of kitchen roll so as to catch the excess grains. you can see from the above image that there was some overspill.

Wanted to see if i dragged the cards through the Pastels on the kitchen roll, a bit like picking up distress inks or Paints, what would happen. The excess grains stuck onto the backgrounds and added another shade, didn’t have to blend they were already smudged and mixed with the background colour. Then added a layer of Light Gold Metallic Pan Patel to add a little glimmer then sprayed with fixative before stamping.

A close up of this card shows both the imprint of the kitchen roll, the picked up colour and the delicate glimmer of the Metallic Pan Pastel.

On the ATC titled ‘Balance’ i used Portfolio Pastels and Fresco Paints to colour in the Jo Firth Young mini 20 and 21 stamps. Hand wrote the word Balance, trying to achieve the dark and light of Nature.

‘I’m Perfect’ sentiment is from Dyan Reavely stamp set called the ‘Right Words’, haven’t used the whole sentiment. Used Jo Firth Young stamps from plate 12 for all images. This ATC is not perfect, have done this on purpose because imho everything is perfect as it grows and evolves. Used Fresco Paints from Paper Artsy to colour and used Seedless Preserve to edge and bring depth.

‘Just The Way I Am’ is the other half of the sentiment i used on the above ATC and how we would all like to be. Paper Artsy flower and border are from HP 1009. Used Fresco paints to colour in and the Bronze Pan Pastel metallic to add shimmer to the leaves.

Really enjoyed making these ATC’s and am looking forward to receiving my swap in the near future.

Thanks for dropping bySmile
