Card Challenge

The lovely Darcy Wilkinson is running a Card Challenge and a give away on her Blog, read more here

Darcy has asked us to take one main stamp image and make six different cards from it. Have chosen the Holly Leaves from one of her new Christmas stamp plates EDY04 as i really love how Darcy has incorporated some lovely text within the stamp.

Card One

P1050397

White card base with a fancy edge i cut using a punch, sprayed with Dylusions inks. Stamped the snowflakes from Darcy’s stamp plate EDY04 using the oval InkADinkADo handle and Watering Can Archival Ink. Couple of days ago i stamped out a whole sheet of the holly and berry stamps as i wanted to make a wreath.

P1050384

Used Pan Pastels and a hint of Metallic Pastel to colour the leaves and a red ProMarker to colour the berries. After they were attached i added some Treasure Gold to give a little  bling to the wreath.

Masking tape Merry Christmas is from High Leigh Garden Centre, the sentiment is another Darcy stamp from Plate EDY04. Am pleased with the overall effect but think i went a tad overboard on the berries lol Smile

Card Two

P1050392

Used the cut off from making a square card from Kraft card for this one. Stamped the Snowflakes from EDY04 around the edges using Cornflower Archival Ink Pad, second generation stamping to get a lighter image, used a Sakura Clear Star pen to add a little shimmer to the snowflakes.

Stamped out the sentiment from plate EDY03, added a little Treasure Gold around the edges, mounted it onto a ripped and torn piece of embossed holly leaves from Sizzix, which has been coloured with Pan Pastels, and again edged with Treasure Gold. Added a grosgrain ribbon to add texture and a solid  colour.

Card Three

P1050390

Same shape card as card two, stamped again with the snowflakes from plate EDY04, coloured the background with Metallic Pan Pastels, added little buttons covered with Stickles glue to add a little sparkle.

Used a piece of corrugated board to mount the sentiment from plate EDY04, added a lot of Treasure Gold as want a lush feel to the tag. Added a little piece of delicate red ribbon to the sentiment and added the holly leaves to add a little more colour.

Card Four

P1050395

I do enjoy making CAS cards, used the leaves, berries and sentiment from Plate EDY04. A splash of colour from the berries is all the colour it needs.

Card Five

P1050396

5 x 5 inch square card, used the wonderful dotty border from EDY03, leaves, berries and sentiment from EDY04.  Used Cornflower Archival Ink to stamp the border and the sentiment. Used a hint of Treasure Gold around the sentiment.

Card Six

P1050391

First hybrid stamped card, used both Darcy and Jo Firth Young stamps for this last one.

Baubles, let it snow and leaves all from Darcy plate EDY04, Snowman from JOFY Collection 01.   Masking tape from High Leigh Garden Centre. Used ProMarkers to colour the snowman and the small baubles.

Managed to resist Treasure Gold on a couple of my cards at least. Looking forward to hearing your comments. thanks for dropping by Smile

  2. Fab-u-lous! My fav e, well I thoguht it was the CAS as soon as I saw it, but then I saw the last one and I love the mix of both mine and Jo's stamps. I think you have them complementing each other really well. I am pretty sure one can never have too many berries or Treasure Gold lol Thanks for taking part. x

  4. What a lovely collection of cards. Well done on meeting Darcy's challenge. Only trouble is you're as bad as Helen and have me panicking now. I really must get my rear end in gear and stop dithering over my Christmas makes!
