This projects list of materials is huge, i hope you will forgive me not telling you every little step along the way, we would be here for at least an hour lol. I will try to explain where the texture on the background is and where the Pan Pastels were used.

There are four layers on this panel, the back is Kraft Card sewn round the edge to create frame one, the cardboard has been coloured with Distress Ink Pads and textured with a fork to get the cross hatch design then ripped and Treasure Gold added to highlight some of the distressed areas. The third layer has also been sewn to the back layer through the cardboard using a zigzag stitch to create texture and to create another frame. Finally the front panel has had Grunge Paste added through a stencil to create depth and interest, a frame has been embossed using an Craft Concepts folder called vine and stamped over with a Darcy mini stamp to highlight one of the flower heads.

While the arch was being embossed it broke up and so an accident was put to good use when i decided to use part of the frame on the front panel.

The Pan Pastels (Old Gold) have been added over the Distress Ink Kraft card background and over the third layer where Darcy’s mini border stamp has been used (Old Gold and Copper). I really do love the subtleness of their presence but you would notice if you didn’t add them.

The flowers and vine have added depth and the finishing touches to the panel.

  1. I enlarged your images and they were just stunning! The colours and textures were so much more vibrant and interesting when you could see them larger! The blues, greens and purples were gorgeous and the bird and leaves are so beautiful. I really love the effect of the stitching too. This is a really interesting piece of art work. Julie Ann xxx
