The Craft Barns latest challenge has been a real tough one, there are lots of quotes on both words but not too many using them both in the same place.
The two words we have been given to use are: UNIQUE and FAME.
I found these lyrics from Glen Campbell and Steve Wariner in a song titled
‘The Hand That Rocks The Cradle’
the lyrics say…
There ought to be a hall of fame for mamas
Creation's most unique and precious pearl
It was released in 1987 as the first single from the album Still Within the Sound of My Voice.
This week i made a master board as i wanted to use it for two projects, this is the piece that is over after making the projects.
Cut a piece and adhered it onto an iCard.
Then tried my hand at some Zenspiration tangling. This fabulous way of drawing tangles is taught by the lovely Joanne Fink.
Tangled a frame, colouring in the areas with coloured pens. The words were cut from a book called Blue on Blue (the link is just to show you the book), the boy band, it is a fan book and contained most of the words and letters i needed to create this look.
Had to improvise and write a couple of the words myself as they weren’t easy to find, like the different fonts and the look of a ransom note lol.
The master board was coloured using Pan Pastels Pink and Orange, the stencil is a Sizzix doily die which i used Versamark ink through and then went over again with the same colour Pan Pastels.
On the reverse of the iCard i adhered the two words we were to use, the title of the song, the year it was released and the Vocalists.
Hope you like the iCard. Do leave a comment so i know you have visited.
Thanks for dropping by.

ReplyDeleteI love the colours of the masterboard and the zentangles.
ReplyDeleteThe dangles are really neat! I'm amazed that you found a quote/lyric that uses both words!
ReplyDeleteThe dangles are fabulous MOH and I really lie the doily effect you added. Are you going to do ICAD this year? :o)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment on my recent post and for the info on mixing the alcohol inks.
ReplyDeleteIcad is Index Card a Day. A challenge set by Tammy Garcia, aka Daisy Yellow at daisyyellowart.com/icad/
The challenge is to make art on an index card everyday for 61 days from June 1st to July 31st :-D
I also meant to say thanks for the idea about scanning the picture. I've never heard Craft Artist, so I will look into that ;-)

ReplyDeleteA fab card, love the doodling and clever you finding another quote with both words in :)
ReplyDeleteI just recently created my first masterboard. I was surprised at how many of my visitors had never heard of it or how to make one. I thought I was the last person on the planet to make one (grin). It's always fun to see how they turn out when they are cut to size.
ReplyDeleteYour zentangle frame is fantastic. I am in awe, and of course, my hand started cramping just seeing all that hand work. Yours is definitely lovely.
I agree with Mo (Twinkle Toes). I just "assumed" you knew about ICADs. You create one a day for 61 days during June and July. Maybe I'll see you there, too!
BTW, super lyrics to go with the art. Or maybe it's super art to go with the lyrics!
What a lovely Masterboard and the frame is fabulous. Clever you, finding those lyrics. I don't think I would be equal to this challenge - it would be beyond me to find anything that fitted! Julie Ann xxx
ReplyDeleteGreat to find lyrics using both words! And great zentangling too! xx
ReplyDeleteYou certainly had your work cut out researching for this one and well done for finding one with both words. Love that master board background too.
ReplyDeleteFabulous page Hun, I love how you zentangled the front! xxx
ReplyDeleteOoh this is fabulous! I love your tangles, I have never tried! You are so clever finding songs with both words I have trouble finding them with one! Thank you for visiting me! xx
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely subtle shading with the PPs and the Zentangling looks so cool - wow! Love the words - I'm off to have a listen, thanks for the link!
ReplyDeleteAlison xx
What a super lyric encompassing both words so brilliantly how on earth did you find that! Love the zentangling border. Thanks for visiting me BJ
ReplyDeleteOh and the Indigo Blu stamps are brilliant aren't they? Told both my on-line group and used them with my home group this week and loads of ladies set about to find and buy the magazine to get their own set. I saw the lady stamp in rubber at a show last week and it alone was £8.99, so £4.99 for that and all the others in acrylic was a bargain if you ask me. I wasn't even that bothered with the magazine either LOL. BJ
ReplyDeleteHi Mass, just going to add to the love. It looks cool!
ReplyDeleteLove it - great masterboard - gorgeous colours and zentangles xx
ReplyDeleteGlen Campbell was my fave singer in the days of vinyl, lol! Still have quite a few of his older albums and he can still sing so well inspite of his dementia (must be in his soul). You did so well finding these two words in the lyrics and I love the masterboard. Great use of the zentangling too.

ReplyDeleteI love the quote you chose and the doodling is fab. I've tried it but just haven't gotten the hang of it.
