Christmas in July Folder

ON 28th July i wrote this post as i was entering the Stampotique challenge for Christmas in July. One of the projects i attempted to make was a folder to keep all my Xmas information in.

Sent off for some file mechanisms from this company, when they arrived i had to make changes to the size as the mechanism was too large for the folder i had already started to create.

Removed Heads from back and front and was left with the dot adhesive showing, covered it up with a few die cut harlequin sheets and where the adhesive was showing i added copper thunder gilding flakes.

You can see the way the flakes have adhered to the dots, makes a great foil background. Added Grunge Paste to add a little texture to the cover.

Coloured the whole of the front of the cover with Pan Pastels then wiped off the excess and spray sealed the area.

Doodled around the diamond shapes, added some Washi Tape from DoCrafts, then assembled the layers for the words.

Wanted the folder to have an element of fun, got the idea to give it two different ways up.

Added two signatures using three pages in one so ended up with six sides i can use.

P1070139

When you open up the ‘Nice’ side you see the Gorjus girl on the front cover and the teddies with presents on the pages.

P1070141

P1070142

When you open up the ‘Naughty’ side you see this woman who is so enraged at herself for getting on the naughty list that she is pulling her hair out…

The pages show the tree is bare and there are no gifts.

There is always Hope and most of the people who end up on the naughty list usually make it onto the nice list for Santa’s delivery night, Ho Ho Ho!

P1070144

Used bakers twine to secure the signatures and added pouches on the inner leaves of the folder to store little titbits.

Sealed the whole cover with Satin Glaze Fresco finish Paints, when dry i added the layers and words.

I do hope you like the updated version of my Christmas in July folder, i am going to make another folder a larger size so i can accommodate the new mechanisms.

Really enjoyed making this, hope you have time to leave a comment.

Thanks for dropping by.
