Have managed to catch up with the last three weeks of Claudine Criner’s Altered Playing Card Challenge. It has taken me ages to feel in the mood and then the inspiration hit all at once…
Claudine had a little change of direction after her image transfer didn’t go to plan and changed the theme to Outside the Box.
Had a little fun with this one, here are the images.
White painted background, images from National Enquirer magazine. Used Robin Williams and Monica Lewinsky faces with little changes to their features.
Coloured them with Kaiserfusion alcohol pens.
Added Inkadinkado animal stamp images coloured with alcohol pens and Sakura Glaze pen.
Added some blue faux pearls to Monica, a doodled border and the words I Got The Cream.
Added some Zendoodling to Dog Data, this is how i think dogs see data lol.
Used a Stabilo All pencil to add some outlining to both the cards.
Claudine wanted us to use mop up paper towels we had collected for backgrounds but used Pan Pastels instead.
The snowman, snowballs and snowflakes are all rub ons but they are old and took an age to adhere.
Used Pthalo Blue tone and Ultramarine Blue tone a hint of Magenta and Pthalo Blue for the background on both Altered Playing Cards.
Snowtex from DecoArt makes a great dimensional snow border, added some fine blue glitter on top so it stuck and added a glisten as it dried.
Added some glitter stones to look like smaller snowballs.
Winter Coat shows the cute Inkadinkado Chihuahua stamp coping with the winter snow.
Pan Pastels colour the background and dog alongside the rub ons and the extra snowballs.
I am entering the Chihuahua card called Winter Coat into the Pan Pastel Challenge Cold and Frosty Colours.
Week 12 – Write on your Playing Cards
Claudine’s post is all about Thanksgiving this week so she wanted us to write about what we are thankful for and what i like about myself.
Opted for other topics, are you a dog person and how do you communicate.
I like the TH texture fade called notebook, used this on both the APC’s one of them didn’t hold up too well but it gave some fab textures and tears.
Pan Pastels have some wonderful colours in the red and brown shades. Over the top Treasure Gold was added to highlight the lines and dots.
The dog head is the part i cut off to make the Dog Data APC and added a sim card to the communicate APC. Will fill these out over the next few days.
May i wish a very Happy Thanksgiving to my US followers and may we here in the UK take time to share in their day of reflection and sharing.
Thanks for dropping by.

Fab little pieces of art! xxx
ReplyDeleteWow! Love your APC cards! The cards of Week 10 made me smile, they look so funny! The cards of Week 11 are too cute! Really love the chihuahua stamp! The cards of Week 12 both have beautiful colors and texture and what a great idea to use a sim card on one of them!
ReplyDeleteOh my, where on earth do you get the ideas from, these are fab x

forgot to write that it brought a big smile to my face as I read "I got the cream" at Monica Lewinsky's piece...lol!
ReplyDeleteWow you have had fun with these, such wonderful arty pieces of fun.
ReplyDeleteSorry I haven't been around in ages but life took over particularly with workshops which have been far more time consuming than I thought they would be.
Hope all is well with you.

Definitely on a roll! Love the quirky out of the box thinking on the first two (who wants to live inside the box anyway?!), and the fabulous frosty PP colours on Week 11, and a big whoop for the distressed, weathered playing cards after their traumatic trip through the embossing folder - fab!

I simply can't believe how far behind I've gotten. First, I wanted to tell you how impressed I was with your anniversary cards. They are beautiful. Second, I was stunned that you put that wreath together in just over 13 minutes. It would take me a day just to come up with what to make.
ReplyDeleteAnd now we're here with your APCs. You really DID think outside the box with your revised cards. Data dog is so, so funny. And I got a laugh out of Monica and her cream.
Your snow APCs turned out really well. I've not heard of that DecoArt snowtex, but it sure made a great border. And those snowballs were cute.
I thought Claudine's final cards were geared to those of us who live in the states, but maybe that's just how I read it. I like what you decided to do. Sometimes it pays to think on your own.
All in all, you have created some beautiful art, and I have been decidedly absent. My apologies.
My goodness you've been busy... don't know which ATC is my favourite! I'd plump for the snowman because the texture is so real looking and also the dog playing card, as I like that embossing!
ReplyDeleteYou are on a wonderful roll with your APCs, Mo! Love your human-headed beasties!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards! I'm thinking about getting back into making smaller pieces
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, what an amazing collection Mo! I think the snowman is my favourite, maybe because it's snowing outside so it seems to fit! ha! What a wonderfully creative mind you have!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comments on my blog while I was on holiday! I had a great time with my Mom, although the week flew by too quickly! Hope you had a wonderful week as well! hugs :)
Your cards are all really fabulous! It feels good to be caught up, too, I bet. I really like the snowman one--I used some snow texture also on my card. The Dog Data and I Got the Cream are just delightful and made me smile. They are definitely out of the box!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your Monica cat and your Robin dog. Very cool. Cute snow cards. Love the fake snow and that chihuahua is so cute. Fab with the notebook embossing. I think week 12 is a super challenge. I like your take. Hugz
ReplyDeleteWow, another brilliant post. I love the comedy in your cards. Very creative. You have inspired me to play!
