Speed Craft Challenge #6 Anything Goes.

I am so excited as this is my first ever DT blog post!

Ingrid has chosen the theme Anything Goes for our 6th 15 minute Speed Challenge.

Movember was the first thing that came to mind using Tinglyitchiness from Stampotique, i already have some stamped and coloured images of him as i like to use him on lots of projects. I also used stash pieces as some are pre coloured and pre embossed.

The items i chose to use for my challenge.

The card and the tea bag were embossed using a Sizzix folder with moustaches, took this with me to a workshop and didn’t use them.

Started the timer and placed them onto the felt bunting, 13.50 minutes on the clock.

P1070606

Added colour to the pieces using Archival Black ink and Peacock Feathers DI, 9.61 minutes left.

Glueing and cutting the edges off left me with 5.51 minutes to go.

I paused the timer at this stage as i had to move to another room to use my sewing machine.

My machine is always set up so i just had to change the thread and bobbin and then sew the front paper pieces down using a straight stich. This is the completed piece within the time limit.

I finished the bunting with 1 minute 44 seconds to spare but it needed to be finished off.

I cut out a piece of lightweight cotton material and chose a piece of ribbon from stash, changed to an overcasting foot and using the same cream cotton went over the sides to neaten it off, this took another 5 minutes.

I hope you like the bunting with acrylic felt background and the card all sewn on the top. Took inspiration from a workshop called Collage Boxes Workshop i went on recently with Anne Brooke, really enjoy this technique, hope you try it too.

If you have the time please go and see what the other DT members have created for Challenge 6.

  18. I was super impressed with the way you got all those pieces together in such a short amount of time. That was a very clever finished project, too. I love your sewing, because I couldn't sew a straight line if my life depended on it.

I wanted to let you know. I normally drink coffee, too. I'm not much of a tea drinker. BUT, if it's got something to do with a drink, it qualifies. After all, I sat up and took note of the tea bag you used in your piece. See, that's something to do with a drink.
