Hello everyone a HUGE welcome to my first post as the owner and creator of this new Challenge blog. I am very excited that my idea for this blog has at last been realised. I have been working on my idea for over a year but it was in January that i decided to go ahead and make it happen.
I have to give a shout out to the very talented Pamellia from My Little Craft Things who came to my rescue when i was struggling to put the blog together. I provided Pamellia with the artwork she then designed our blog. She has done an amazing job and i am hugely grateful to her for getting it up and running.
THANK YOU Pamellia!!!
My project has all three of the elements required to enter into our challenge.
My ‘Old’ elements are the flower and leaves, the card stock, twine, Stickles and Treasure Gold which are all from stash.
My ‘New’ is the die i used from Eileen Hull called Mini Album 658982.
My ‘Digital’ is a drawing of an Angel i did which i photographed and printed out using my inkjet printer.
Firstly i cut out a mini album and 5 signatures using the die.
Lined the album using some very old papers with some fab textures before adding the signatures at the end. Took this picture after i had finished the album. Got too carried away playing to take step by step pictures, sorry!
Added corrugated cardboard over the spine area but didn’t glue it down right to the edge as i wanted to add a couple of little embellishments.
Painted the base of the album with DecoArt Vintage Chalky paint. Used Everlasting Chalky paint through an old stencil called Cosmic Swirl.
Sprayed the whole base with DecoArt Turquoise Shimmer mister then went over with DecoArt Media Interference Paint Blue then added a layer of DecoArt Raw Umber Antiquing Cream. When dry i rubbed a lot of it off to get this wonderful mottled effect.
Used a Martha Stewart punch to cut out a design and added this over a piece of thick card stock from stash to create the border. Lightly rolled the edge of the papers to give that aged look.
Added a paper flower and leaves from stock and stamped out the word Breathe from a small set of alphabet stamps from The Range.
Hope you can see the lovely Treasure Gold colours i used.
My hand drawn Angel has been added onto a piece of light card stock and drawn over using a black Uni-Pin Pen. Her hair is courtesy of Stickles and Treasure Gold. Derwent Graphik Line Markers added the little bits of colour to her Heart and lips.
A piece of corrugated cardboard provides her base. Used Treasure Gold in 3 colours here to match the colours of paint i have used.
The front of the mini album.
Flattened out as best i could so you can see from all angles.
The five signatures have been added using some IKEA cord and tied round the back using a basic knot.
I do hope you have found some inspiration and see how easy it is to add all three elements to your projects.
Please visit our very talented Design Team to see their fantastic projects too.
Looking forward to your lovely comments and thanks for taking the time to drop by.

THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN! :)
That is gorgeous Mo! Big huge congrats on the new challenge too hun, have seen and followed and I hope to be able to play along soon. I am now hoarding cereal boxes for my MM arches and some cardboard because you have inspired me to recycle more lol!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the lovely comments on my blog, I'm off to take a look around at whatever I may have missed next.
The suggestion of the WRMK board is a good one and TBH I struggled badly with the cutting file I had to use - it was in inches! I don't do inches, we did centimetres at school and I've always struggled trying to convert them lol! I have a very old wooden board that was called a Box Board - it's my go to board when I have to create boxes and lids to match it makes it so easy!
I wish you the best of luck with your new challenge hun Karen x
