Altered APC’s Week 17

Claudine couldn’t decide on a title or theme for the APCs this week…

I think the theme for this week could either be "Birds" or "Blessings" or even "Pink and Red backgrounds" haha! What do you think?

Am challenging myself to use similar colours as i really dislike using pink or red. Used Paper Artsy Blush and London Bus for my base layer.

P1070816

Sparkle Medium from Imagination Crafts mixed with Pitch Black paint dabber and a little Ranger Copper Alcohol ink was applied through the Gothic stencil from Tim Holtz and left to dry for card one.

P1070818

Added some washi tape from stash, Tim Holtz bird and crown from Visual Artistry mini set.

P1070819

Sentiment from Rubber Dance stamps, Signo white pen to add the hearts.

The second card i applied using a palette knife and then put a piece of bubble wrap over the top to remove some of the Sparkle Gel.

P1070820

Love Neville from stamp set EDY09 by Darcy Wilkinson, used the sentiment too which reads:

“I want to be improbable and beautiful, afraid of nothing, as if i had wings”.

Added hearts using Signo white pen and outlined Neville and the sentiment.

Week 17 APC’s together, i’m going with birds and blessings.

Hope you have enjoyed anther visit to my blog today as this is my second post, thanks for leaving your very kind comments.

  6. These are absolutely gorgeous, Mo. So much better than the ones I made. I'll show mine tomorrow, but they fail miserably compared to wonderful playing cards you created. Your birds are fantastic.

  9. I have just discovered Rubber Dance stamps and I think they're lovely! Also I'm a huge fan of my Signo pens! This is a lovely project. I also tend to avoid reds and pinks, but then when I use them, I always find it an adventure and it looks so different from how I think it will. I love what you've done here with these altered playing cards. Birds are such fun! I love Neville and that TH bird is one of my favourites! Great work, Mo! xxx

  10. I think they're great, Mo - a rare foray into red/pink, but definitely worth it! Love the layers and collage work. I've also just discovered R.D. stamps - via Ellie's guest post the other day - my first ones are on the way!

  14. I'm late visiting because I always like to complete my cards before seeing what everyone else comes up with.

Both of your cards are really gorgeous! It is hard to work with color combos you don't really like, but you sure rose to the challenge! Have a wonderful weekend!
