Playing With peel Off Waste

I know that peel offs are not really trendy at the moment but i still find them useful sometimes. I happen to have far too many and need to use them up before they start to loose their sticky.

My project is an experiment using some DecoArt products, Distress Ink pads,Pan Pastels, Treasure Gold, peel off waste, Stampotique, Dyan Reaveley, Christy Tomlinson She Script stamps and lots of little pieces of card that you don’t want to throw away but are not sure how to use. Am sure there are more products i used but will mention them along the way.

Started by adding two different flower peel off wastes to an A4 sheet of white card stock.

Then i decided to add a little texture paste and add embossing powder over the top, a technique that a lovely lady called Pamellia uses a lot. It worked well and will try this again, thanks Pamellia for the inspiration to try this.

P1070888

Added a few layer of Pan Pastels and sealed them before adding ay other embellishments.

I forgot to take pictures along the way, there are many layers, stencils, colouring with KaiserFusion alcohol pens, die cuts one using corrugated board and completed with a Sharpie pen border and a little Treasure Gold added to the edges and the glittered pieces.

I will try to use up a lot of my peel off waste like this as they work as a base layer.

Hope you feel like using up your peel off waste too, let me know how you use yours up, it will be interesting to know and i might learn a new technique or two!

Thanks for dropping by.

  2. This looks so original! I think it's how you use crafty items that counts. One of the reasons - maybe - that peel-offs are a bit looked down on is that people use them predictably. You Mo have created something totally wondrous with the humble peel-off! This way of using them is different - who knows they might be about to make a come-back thanks to you! xxx

  7. I think that this is inspired. It's not what you use, it's how you use it. Must try the other technique that you pinched from Pamelia. The photo where you sealed over the pan pastels looks amazing. All the layers, stamping etc look amazing. Not sure what a shrink would say though?? Haha. Xx

  13. I love this! What a great idea for layering - and I love your results - the colors and textures are just beautiful. Thank you too for suggesting the Speed Craft challenge. Unfortunately, my best laid plans didn't work ;) I'm taking more like an hour and 15 minutes a day instead. ugh ;)

  17. I dug out - while tidying- some peel offs- I have just taken them back out of the charity bag!!! Love what you have done here - great inspiration! Thank you for all the lovely comments you leave me! In answer to your question - I bought some gauze dressing from the chemist-it's really lightweight! Hugs, Chrisx

  18. I had to laugh at you forgetting to take photos along the way! It has happened to me, too, on more than one occasion. I love that I can enlarge your photos by a simple click--which allows me to examine all the detail and texture in that last photo (particularly). Your work here is remarkable, Mo, as always!

  21. I can't believe how far behind I've gotten. You have been making art faster than I can visit.

I hate to show my ignorance, but I have NO idea what a peel off is, let along what peel off waste is. What I DO know is I am in love with this gorgeous beauty. From the textures to the colors to the composition. it all screams great mixed media.
