Speed Craft Challenge #10 Music Inspired

Hi Everyone, this time it’s the lovely Amanda’s turn to choose our theme over at the Speed Craft Challenge and she has chosen ‘music inspired’.

Supplies

I bought some stamps from Port Sunlight in September by Inkadinkado called ‘In the Groove’ which feature music and i have a very old clear acrylic music score stamp.

The Hot Off The Press feather stamps and stencil are the free set in one of the latest Craft Magazines. The link takes you to the full set not the freebie.

The Journal Page

Used Pan Pastels in Phthalo Blue and Ultramarine Blue and also the tints, Archival Ink and Ink It Up clear Embossing ink pad for the stamping. Stabilo All black pencil.

The music stamp created the background and was coloured by the Pan Pastel Phthalo Tint colour, the Inkadinkado man playing his guitar was stamped on top after i had sealed the pastels with hair spray.

Added the little musical note that was included in the set so we can see how far into the ethers this guy gets when he is in the zone, the notes drift off the page…

The hand written wording says it all, ‘Music Makes My Soul Float Like A Feather’. The feather is from The Hot Off The Press freebie set, it stamps so beautifully. I coloured it in using Weathered Wood DI via a paint brush.

Added the page to my tissue background journal. Each page has been covered with tissue or kitchen roll mop up pieces to use as backgrounds/texture.

Added some little pieces of washi tape that were over from other projects, i wanted to show this person travels and shares his delight in music and being in the zone.

Drew around the edge of the page with the Stabilo black pencil, added a little water and go this lovely smudged look.

This page took me

just under the 15 minutes, it was very close today.

I do hope you have enjoyed my project and i look forward to your comments.

Please click on the link at the top of the post to see what my other talented Teamies have been creating.

REMEMBER to ADD THE TIME IT TOOK FOR YOU TO CREATE YOUR PROJECT somewhere in your post!

Some of the entries in the last Challenge didn’t include the time and had to be excluded from the decision to select the winner and top 3.

ANY type of project can be included, working with wood, clay, jewellery, sewing etc, as long as it takes you under 15 minutes.

Challenge #10 Winner

I am offering this months Challenge 10 winner these four stamps, however they will only get them if they live in the UK; sorry this is down to postage costs.

  2. Love the music inspired piece. Fabulous medley of colours on the left, complements the floatiness of the right hand side. Like the idea of him floating on a feather, he really does look as though he is in his own world. Great idea to Stabilo an outline and then smudge..like eyeliner! Exciting piece! X

  3. I somehow can't imagine doing all that in 15 minutes. I guess it helped that your background was already finished and dry. But of course, I loved the final piece, since I'm a BIG fan of music. This is one lovely entry that truly fits the sentiment.
